Pregnancy Highlights: How Far Along: 36 weeks
Size of baby:
Your baby is still packing on the pounds — at the rate of about an ounce a day. She now weighs almost 6 pounds and is more than 18 1/2 inches long (about the size of a head of romaine lettuce). She's shedding most of the downy covering of hair that covered her body as well as the vernix caseosa, the waxy substance that covered and protected her skin during her nine-month amniotic bath.
Total Weight Gain/Loss: Gained 12 pounds (I kept telling my OB to not worry when I was loosing so much weight that I would eventually put it all on)
Maternity Clothes: wearing all maternity clothes and some of those are getting tight
Gender: Not finding out! We are still so excited to not know if you're a baby girl or baby boy...
Movement: Lots of movement at night when I lay down and lots during the day. I started having Braxton Hicks contractions at 36 weeks and have had 1-2 a day. Most go away quickly and once I rest and drink water they stop. I didn't feel any or very few with your sister and brother.
Sleep: Not my favorite thing to do. I can fall asleep quickly but am up quite a bit and am finding it hard to fall back asleep- My pregnancy C pillow is a life saver again this time. Having to get up to go to the restroom at least two or three times a night
Symptoms: We are still pretty busy and active and lots of movement doesn't make you too happy. You are breech, just like your brother and sister were. You are on top of my ribs and make it difficult to move and breathe at times. Your feet or hands are punching my bladder and cervix and it doesn't feel pleasant! You are just reminding me that you are still in there and growing!
What I miss: Sleeping on my tummy!
Cravings: BLT sandwiches,
Best moment this week: Feeling my tummy move and you kick inside of me
What I am looking forward to: hearing your heartbeat every week at our appointments. It never stops being a miracle to hear and makes my heart stop waiting to hear it. Your heartbeat has been between 144-152 the last few months, which is as high as your sisters was as well. We had your 3D ultrasound- what a blessing to see your precious little face. Most people think you look exactly like your sister Trystan.
