Red spots...

The red spots started last Friday evening...one on his tummy and one on his forehead...but Mommy just thought they were bug bites. And then Sunday afternoon at Nana's house, there were a few more and Mommy remembered that someone broke out with the chicken pox in the 15 month classroom at VBS last week. Monday morning it was unmistakingly the chicken pox!

Little Brayden has the chicken pox, along with his friend Ethan. Ethan's mommy and I have a few different hypotheses of how the boys got chicken pox (mainly Brayden b/c he wasn't in the classroom with the little girl who got them), BUT...it doesn't matter how he got them, it just matters that he has them now!

He is doing pretty well given all he is having to deal with. As you can see, he mainly has them on his face and head, which is horrible because I can't put anything on them and he continues to itch them when he rubs his eyes when he is tired. Everyday this week he has had more and more little spots...his feet, toes, belly button, ears, bottom eye lid, scalp, tongue, hands, underarm, bottom, ...just about everywhere! We are praying the new spots will be gone by Saturday/Sunday so he won't be contagious anymore and we can relax a bit.

(Disclaimer- the water in his bath is yucky colored because he is taking Aveeno oatmeal baths)

Father's Day Festivities

We are all thankful for our Daddy's and thank them for loving us. Of course we celebrated Fathers Day in grand style...

Make sure you don't miss Brayden's Fathers Day letter to his Daddy...

Thursday we celebrated Shannon's Dad's (Paw Paw) birthday and Fathers Day...unfortunetly we didn't take any pictures, but we had a wonderful time at dinner and then Dessert Gallery cake back at our house.

Saturday was Danny's special day...we went to Kemah for the afternoon and it was HOT! We all enjoyed being together and seeing new things. The boardwalk is pretty well recovered from Ike.

Fathers Day Breakfast Sunday, we had lunch with Danny's Dad (Grandpa) and then hung out at his apartment for a little bit. Brayden even got to meet his cat, G.W. (yes, named for G.W. Bush).
Sunday evening, we celebrated Danny's step-dad, Don (Grandaddy Don) with yummy steaks and apple pie.

What a fun weekend celebrating our Daddy's and Grandpa's!

Happy 1st Fathers Day Daddy

Brayden here...I took over the blog today to say Happy Fathers Day to my Daddy. He is such a loving and fun Daddy. I know Mommy loves him too because I hear her say it to him all the time. Mommy says he is the best Daddy ever, and I agree! Here are some reasons I am thankful for my Daddy.

You held my hand the moment I was born and haven't stopped holding it since
You wrap me in your loving arms
You talk to me eye to eye
(Mommy says that is very important bonding time for us)
You take me to my favorite store
You take me to church and teach me all about Jesus and how much he loves me

You are an Aggie too!

You love to walk me around my room when you are putting me to sleep. You hate to hear me cry to sleep.
We have the same smile!
You teach me how to dunk the basketball You love to let me sleep on your shoulder
You wear the crazy shirts I give you
You like to match me And most of all I love you because you are my DAD

Biter's Bisquits...

I have been looking for Zwieback Toast for Brayden to chew on, but have not been successful. The other day Brayden and I were killing time in WalMart while the house was being shown and I found these Gerber Biter's Bisquits. I thought, oh this will keep him occupied a bit longer...so I gave him one. Bad idea! It was everywhere when he was done, all over me, all over him, all over his seat cover...Here are a few pics of him eating another one at home.

Swimming...Swimming...In the Swimming Pool...

Anyone else remember that song from girl scout camp...I have been singing it for 2 days straight...
Swimming, swimming in the swimming pool. When days are hot. When days are cold.
In the swimming pool. Breaststroke, Sidestroke, Fancy diving too?
Don’t you wish you never had, Anything else to do. But....
We thought we would let Brayden "try out" the real pool in preparation for more time in the pool this summer on vacation. Little did we know how much he would LOVE it! He didn't cry once. He was a little hesitant and shaking a bit, but warmed up to the pool quickly. We hung out at Jen's (as we call her Aunt Jen's) uncle's pool where we were the only ones there. We will be visiting many more times this summer.

Just chillin'- About 30 minutes in, he just layed back and floated in his float! It was priceless.

With Aunt Jen and Uncle Rick

And of course some video...
