I'm going to be a bit more blunt with my thoughts here... My prayer life is something I really need to work on. To be honest, a lot of times, I pray as I am running here or running there, but to sit down and have quiet time with the Lord isn't something I'm very regular at doing. Something I'm ashamed of and know needs to improve!
And friend of a friend from Baylor started this on her blog in January and I've been "reading" each scripture each week, but not really meditating on it or listening to what the Lord has for me to learn from it. My friend, Natalie, posted this week that she writes the verse on a note card each week and puts it in her house where she will see it many times a day. I thought that was a great idea, so I wrote this weeks verse on a post it note and it is on my computer screen!
And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.
~2 Corinthians 3:18 (New International Version, ©2010)
This week I was praying this verse for "My husbands self-image" but it seems to be applying more to me and my own messed up self-image. I mean, I know in my head that "I am a child of God" and He loves me just the way I am, but do I truly love myself and who I am each and every day! Nope- don't think so! What a joy and reasuurance to know that we are each constantly "being transformed into His image with ever-increasing glory!" AND all of it "comes from the Lord."Not from any other person, not from the media, not from myself, but from the One who created me. Amen.
Thank you Lord for that reasuurance and gift this morning. Please show me how I can pray this verse for my husband this week. I love you.
