First SleepOver

Brayden had his first sleep over Monday evening- his cousin Kelbie spent the night while Tiff and James celebrated their 2nd anniversary.  Of course, Aunt Shannon snapped pictures the entire time and survived two kids and a night time feeding :)  We had a wonderful time!  Kelbie was such a doll and a perfect baby!  We hope she'll come back again soon!

Sandbox fun- she actually didn't eat too much :)

Brayden wanted to get in the pool and it was a bit warm out, so I decided to put Kelbie in as well- I didn't want to get wet and didn't have anything else to put her in, so I grabbed her portable high chair and strapped her in- she LOVED it!

Her squealing and laughing as Brayden dripped water on her toes
 Such a cute chunky monkey!
Brayden was jumping in the pool belly first and splashing her- she loved it!
My cute little swimmer

Big Brother...to be!

Brayden is going to be a big brother and is he super excited!  Of course, Danny and I are as well.

The story...
We are blessed we've only been trying for about 3 months, and I have to admit, the controlling person in me was freaking out and even went to see the OB after 2 months and strange cycles.  I feel silly now, especially with as many of my friends who have struggled with true infertility, but when you're worried, doubt sets in and I let it get the best of me.

I was one week late on Friday, April 1st, yes, April Fools Day. We had stopped at CVS to pick up a few things before heading home as a family and I mentioned to Danny I was late, and maybe should pick up a test.  I truly didn't think there was any possible way we could be pregnant.  So...we got home, I took the test and placed it on the counter and started cooking dinner.  About half way in, I remembered it and glanced over at it, and just said "Danny...!"  And he looked at me from the living room and knew!  It was positive!

Of course, I wasn't okay with one test, so I had another kind of test that says Pregnant or Not Pregnant and I took that one the next morning and it was positive again!  We were both elated!
I called my doctor on Monday and he couldn't get me in/ didn't really want to see me until I was over 8 weeks along.  Which was different from my OB with Brayden because he saw me the very next day after we called at 4 weeks 1 day and did a blood test.  But...God is truly teaching me patience!

This gave Danny and I time to plan out how we wanted to tell our families...We had done a semi-elaborate plan when we told them all we were pregnant with Brayden, so we wanted to do something when all of them would be together, which coincedentally was Easter Sunday right after our doctor's appointment.

Thursday, April 21- 1st Doctors Appointment
And we got to see the heartbeat, little yolk sac, and precious body of our baby #2, or "baby dos" as Danny likes to call him/her.  Brayden was asking LOTS of questions and it was the first time we had even told him Mommy had a baby in her tummy.  The doctor says everything looks great and we were right on track at 8 weeks along.

Friday, I took Brayden to take his Big Brother pictures- we got many other cute ones, but you couldn't see his shirt and that was the whole point of the pictures :)

Got home and put together our Easter Eggs for the family.  They each got an egg with Brayden's Easter picture on front and his Big Brother picture behind it.

Headed over to my mom and dad's house for Easter dinner and there was a lull waiting for dinner to finish cooking, so Brayden handed out his Easter Eggs
Baby #2's Great Grandaddy and Great Gammy seeing the pictures and slowly figuring it out :)  It took a bit longer this time, but soon everyone caught on!  My sis had seen a few things laying around my bathroom that clued her in, and my parents had picked up on some of my pregnancy symptoms I just couldn't hide when we spent the entire weekend before with them...but they were all good sports and kept quiet until the big reveal!

Everyone is very excited for Baby Boyer #2 who is due on December 1st, but probably will come a bit earlier around Thanksgiving if things go the same as they did with Brayden.

Easter Part 4: Family Dinner at Gran and PawPaw's

Sunday evening, we packed everyone up and headed to my parents house for Easter dinner.  It was special to have my family (minus Blake :( ) and Danny's family all together to celebrate the Risen Savior!

 Yet another Easter Egg Hunt

Aunt Lauren brought cascarones, confetti filled easter eggs.  I snapped this picture right after she smashed one on Brayden's head- he wasn't too sure, until she let him smash them on everyone elses heads and the smiles and laughter we saw was worth the mess!  He was SO thrilled to do this!  Thanks Aunt La :)

Resurrection Rolls

I made these Resurrection Rolls when I used to teach preschool sunday school and was excited when I found the right recipe I had remembered... We made these Easter morning

They were super yummy!  I forgot that you have to REALLY make sure the seams are sealed or the marshmallow goes out everywhere instead of disappearing...woops!  Brayden got the idea and meaning behind them and kept calling Jesus a marshmallow that morning :)

Easter Part 3: Easter Bunny Came!

The Easter Bunny came to our house during nap time this Easter... He brought treats for Brayden from everyone!
 Brayden, Mommy and Daddy's baskets

 Kelbie and her basket
Opening his Easter treats from Grandpa
Easter basket from Nana and Grandaddy
His Daddy's bunny from childhood...he loves it!

 And another easter egg hunt...
Kelbie got to do one too :)

 Checking out his loot
And a taste of his Chocolate bunny
Gran and Paw Paw brought Brayden's easter basket over early a few weeks ago, so he could read and watch the books and DVD's they got him

***I promise I washed his Brayden Bunny shirt multiple times this week :) ***
