Vacation in Myrtle Beach

We headed to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina for a week in the sun with Nana and Grandaddy.  We were all very excited to swim in the Atlantic ocean and have fun in the sand.
This little one actually got in the ocean in our arms, but was MUCH happier just playing in the sand and shade

This little one LOVED the beach again and learned the art of collecting sea shells and catching sand crabs (well Mommy caught them and he watched them in his bucket)

And this is when a wave came up on her knees...she RAN back on shore and screamed

Grandaddy's cousins friends friend worked at this race track and offered to give us a tour and let us ride in the pace car on the track- you can't pay for this opportunity so we were all excited.  He can usually go about 120 mph, but it was raining this day and the car needed new tires, so we went about 70 mph :)

This is the original and only Hudson Hornet that the character in the movie CARS is created after

On the 30degree bank of the turns- pretty crazy!

 In the winners circle

We walked down to the little Main Street and found a yummy candy store...they gave the kids free cotton candy
 Making pancakes with Grandaddy

His treat from the candy store
Myrtle Beach has the most putt putt golf courses in any area, and we played on the #1 course that is used for the Masters Putt Putt Golf Association tournament- It was Trystan's first time to play as well and did her first hole by herself and got a HOLE IN ONE!

We spent the mornings at the beach and the afternoons at the pool and enjoyed it all week!

Our big treat was going to the Pirates Voyage show and we all loved it-

On Saturday, our last day, it was rainy and yucky, so we headed to the Boardwalk in Myrtle Beach and walked around a bit.  We rode the Sky Wheel

And were proud of Grandaddy for braving it even with his fear of heights

Someone held onto Mommy the whole time..who could blame her!

On our drive home we drove through Charleston, SC and saw Fort Sumter and the beautiful homes along the water

And a stop in Savannah, GA to eat Sunday lunch at Paula Deen's restaurant Lady and Sons
We had a wonderful week and loved spending lots of time with Nana and Grandaddy
