A few more pics in D.C. before we headed out to the resort in the Blue Ridge Mountains
Blake's school did the famous speakers for the graduation on the mall in front of the capital Sunday morning...we weren't all that interested in sitting through them, but it is pretty special they are the only school that is allowed to do this on the mall :) So we snapped a few pictures when it was all over
National Air and Space Museum
Wow! Those are big airplanes!
Supporting our home church on the day the new church building opened :)
We headed out to the mountains and our first stop the next day was at Montpelier, President James Madison's home. Unfortunetly, the home and it's belongings had been sold to multiple owners after James died, so they are working diligently to restore the home and find all of the missing belongings- it was pretty much empty, and Brayden wanted nothing to do with listening to stories...so Mommy and Brayden headed out to see the carpenter on site.
He showed him how to work this old teddy bear toy...Brayden LOVED it!
He showed him how they constructed the buildings with pegs and cuts
He let him hammer in pegs
And saw his own piece of wood- very special!
They are doing lots of archaeological digging around the site...so they had set up a kids version in a sand box with real pieces they had found.
Dig...Wash...Identify
As my sister said on her picture of this...he would follow Uncle Blake anywhere! The bond between the two of them is amazing! It's been since Christmas since we have seen him and you would never know it! But...we sure do miss Uncle Blake not being near us!
