Toddler Bed...

A few last pictures in his crib :(  And one of his room with the painting done- we are still working on hanging pictures

After Aunt La found Brayden on top of his crib rail last Saturday, and after his nap, I found him halfway over the side, we decided it was time to put his toddler rail on.  Brayden enjoyed helping Daddy with his big boy bed

It has been a LONG week trying to get him to take a nap and not destroy his room in the meantime.  He goes to bed great at night and is usually reading a book in the morning, but his nap is another story!

This was his first nap in the toddler bed- he was worn out!

Playing Peek A Boo

Brayden still LOVES to play Peek a Boo- here is a video of him playing with his Great-Gammy

Milk Truck

Brayden is blessed to be able to play with and visit his Great-Grandparents on Shannon's Dad's side.  We went to visit for an afternoon and Brayden loved playing with this old milk truck toy- the same toy that his Paw Paw and his Mommy played with many many times- so special!

He loves playing with toys his Daddy played with as well :)

18 month pictures

I took Brayden for his 18month pictures this morning and was praying he would sit still!  The last 2 or 3 photo sessions he has run the entire time- but this time, he was an angel!  We pray you enjoy!

18 months....I mean 1 year and a Half!

After hearing someone comment last week that they were tired of counting how old their son was in months, I couldn't believe that we were able to say that Brayden is now a year and a half old!  It makes me feel better (and feel like he isn't as big as he is), if I say he is 18months old!  We will never forget Brayden's half birthday because it will always be on Valentines Day!  What a special day to celebrate all of the loves in our lives and our precious son.

Believe it or not, after the big blowout celebration we did last year for Brayden's 1/2 year birthday, we didn't do anything special this year.

Last Year- 6 months old

This year- 18 months old

Of course, here is the update on what Brayden is doing and moving and learning!
- you have learned how to turn around in circles and like to do it until you fall down
- you have learned how to screw caps on and off- like on water bottles, markers, pens, and more!
- the cutest thing you have learned to do this month is to show us "how strong you are!"- you pull your arms up in front of you, clench your fists and your teeth and flex your muscles- it is adorable!
- you can start to blow your nose
- you can wipe your mouth clean with a napkin
- your canine/incisor teeth are pushing through
- you can feed yourself with a spoon (with quite a mess) and a fork
- You like to put your arms up in the air, as if you are saying, "I don't know"- if we ask you where your water cup is, you do this!
- you can make the sound for many animals, but your favorites are cat ("hisss"- you have decided that cats don't meow anymore, they hiss), cow, lion, bear, dog (which you will do anytime you see one, in a book, in person, on t.v.),

New words this month-
- chalk
- banana
- shh!
- bubbles
- blueberries
- block
- ball
- truck

We love you and are so proud of you, Brayden Scott!
love, mommy and daddy

Happy Valentines Day

I was treated to a wonderful Valentines Day weekend- what a blessing to have someone to love in your life and to be loved in return.

My weekend started with finishing the gameroom (yeah!), beautiful flowers, chocolate covered strawberries and cards from my husband,
Brayden made Daddy a card with his feet prints, and Mommy got Daddy some cufflinks with a note saying "you still turn my stomach in knots when I see you!"  I love you
shopping with my two favorite guys,

Brayden eating his Valentines meal before an early bedtime

and then Danny cooked/grilled a fabulous dinner for me Saturday night.  All from our Willams Sonoma coobooks- new york strip steaks with thyme/rosemary butter, red pepper new potatoes, and grilled chipotle corn on the cob.
`
He then made homemade raspberry ice cream with grilled pears with gran marnier raspberry sauce.  YUMMY!  We put Brayden to bed early and ate dinner in the dining room with candles, and a delicious bottle of Messina Hof wine- Beau (a new red wine I now love!).

dSb- I love you today, tomorrow, and forever! -srb

4th Haircut

I guess it's about time I stop counting haircuts and taking pictures, but Brayden does so well- it's hard to resist these cute pictures.  We were in Kingwood for this one and stopped by Sports Clips and were very pleased with his hair cut.  Even Gran got to hold Brayden during the haircut- he was DONE with Mommy holding him :)

As usual Brayden did well with a sucker in his mouth- looks like these might be the treat we use when he starts potty training

PlayGroup Valentines Party

"Lil' Heartbreaker"
Brayden's new playgroup in Sienna had a Valentines Party last week.  Unfortunetly, we had a lot of sick little ones, so not as many were able to come- but we had a great time finding out that Jacob, a friend from our new church, is in the playgroup and we met 2 new friends, Elijah and Alexis, as well.

Our wonderful hostesses, Sarah and Mrs. Julia, had this fun craft for us to do-  Brayden loved pushing the hearts on the paper plate wreath.

Nana's Birthday

We had fun celebrating Nana's birthday!  We surprised Nana at her school and visited her.  She was surprised and very happy.  And as always, after dinner, Brayden wanted to help blow out the candles.

Happy Birthday Nana!

A New Cookbook....

My cookbook friends (our blog is Cook a Book) have moved on to a new cookbook...and the Boyer's are excited!

We LOVED Ina Garten and all of the new recipes and foods we were able to enjoy, but the price of her ingredients got a bit high. We are starting Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace University, so a cookbook with recipes that don't cost as much is the Dave Ramsey way :)

I have made her homemade pizza crust (it's rising on the kitchen counter as we speak) and will be making Cowboy Calzones for dinner tonight :)

Are you enjoying a new cookbook or have a new recipe to share?  Share it as a comment for all of us to enjoy!
