Daddy's Trucks

Nana and Grandaddy have moved and kept and re-packed many of Daddy's toys, clothes, and more!  We are blessed to be able to take on these keepsakes and treasures!  As Brayden hits the next step in toys, they bring over a few boxes.  Since his birthday party this weekend is a Construction theme, they brought the boxes labeled trucks- and boy did we have a lot to go through and find!

These are the bigger Tonka and Fisher Price bulldozer, cement mixer, and plane he played with last week-

Today, Mommy went through the rest of the boxes and found an entire bag full of matchbox cars and trucks and cars to play with outside in the sandbox. After quite a bit of sanitization and cleaning, I let Brayden play with all of them! He is having the time of his life!

He has also entered the phase of lining things up- it doesn't matter what it is!  Trucks, cars, fruit snacks, anything!

Splashpad with "Aunt N"

We were thankful to find time before Aunt Jen "Aunt N" went back to work to visit the splashpad in her neighborhood again this summer.  This year was night and day different from last year- Brayden ran into the water as soon as we opened the gate.  He had a great time!

Last year we had to cooerce him to get in the water and he lasted about 15 minutes

5th Anniv. Trip- Part 2

We stayed at the Valentin Imperial Maya resort- a few pictures of how beautiful it was!

Danny loved that this was the EXIT sign in the buildings- a man running with fire coming at his rear :)

We went down to the beach twice - and the water was warm, rocky, and had plenty of seaweed, so we spent most of our time by the cool pool.
Our 2nd excursion- You can see the professional pictures here
Getting ready to go in the cave- you can see the dark hole entrance behind us
In the cave water- amazing!
At the cenote
Shannon doing what she LOVES to do- snorkel!  This part was like you were swimming in an aquarium- the Tilapia fish were about 2 feet long
Relaxing afterwards in the hammocks- peaceful!

Our last picture as we were leaving
We got Brayden 2 puzzles that were made in Cancun - we also got him a foam turtle hat, but we have yet to get a picture of him in it :)

A HUGE THANK YOU TO DANNY'S PARENTS AND MY PARENTS FOR WATCHING BRAYDEN THE ENTIRE WEEK WE WERE GONE- HE HAD A GREAT TIME WITH ALL OF YOU!!! THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

5th Year Anniversary Trip- Part 1

What an amazing week we had!  Danny kept where we were going a surprise until early June- at that time he showed me the resort and let me start figuring out what excursions I wanted to do.  I told him the only thing I really wanted to do was sleep in, eat peacefully with adult conversation, take a nap every day, enjoy great dinners, and relax by the pool without chasing a little one...we did that almost every day!  The two days we didn't, we snorkeled one day and went to the Mayan ruins the other.  A great 5 year anniversary trip!  Thank you honey!

Lunch the first day at one of 8 restaurants at the resort
The amazing suite we had all week

The view from one of our two balconies
At the fire show the 1st night- this was the only night we did the resort stuff- the others we just relaxed!
Relaxing by the pool (this was about a third of the whole pool- it had 2 swim up bars)
Infamous Mexican Iguanas
Our Anniversary Dinner at the Lobster Pot
Beautiful sunsets
Saturday we took our first excursion to Chichen Itza Mayan ruins (one of the 7 New Wonders of the World) - the ruins themselves were very educational and great to see, the 3 hour bus ride there and back with a stop or two on the way was less enjoyable!
On the way home, they stopped at our 1st cenote (underground lake that formed when the limestone roof of a cave collapsed) - the water was freezing and it was a long walk down 10 stories to get there - so we opted to take a picture with the crazy people jumping in behind us

Playa Del Carmen....Preview!

Danny surprised me with a luxurious trip to Playa Del Carmen to celebrate our 5th anniversary!  We had a WONDERFUL and RELAXING time!  I have about 100 pictures to comb through, but thought I would give you a preview.

Our 2nd excursion out of the resort was for snorkeling- we ended up snorkeling in a freshwater river where it connects to the ocean, a cave, and a cenote!  These are the professional pictures from that excursion.  We had SO much fun!

The freshwater river-ocean where we snorkeled
The amazing cave we swam/snorkeled in- the water was about 75degrees- not cold, but refreshing!
This was high on my list of coolest things to do!
This is the cenote where I snorkeled and they had zip lines (which we didn't do) :)
This is us trying to stand on these balance ropes across the cenote

Stay tuned for many more pictures!
