Finger Painting

Brayden enjoys finger painting and figured out that Mommy will allow him to paint on his arms... Thank goodness for washable paint.

Crystal Light Pure Fitness Giveaway

The people from Vocalpoint sent me 3 samples of Crystal Light Pure Fitness.  We are already Crystal Light drinkers (have been since I can remember), but I was excited to try this new version that is even better for you.

Add it to a bottle of water and it's a naturally sweetened and low-calorie drink at only 15 calories per serving.

- Evaporated cane juice and Truvia are the answer to it's yummy sweet goodness
- Truvia is an all-natural, no-calorie sweetener that comes from the stevia plant
- Its leaves are steeped just like tea to extract the yummy, sweet stuff

My favorite flavor was the Strawberry Kiwi, but give it a try and let us know your favorite.

To enter the giveaway for a $2 coupon off any one container of Crystal Light Pure Fitness, coupons and information provided by Vocalpoint, leave a comment with your name and email and one way that you make sure you drink enough water during the day in these hot summer months. Contest ends on Monday, July 5th and 2 people will be mailed the coupon.

Resting with Daddy

It is not very often when Brayden falls asleep in our arms...this specific evening he didn't take a nap and fell asleep in Daddy's arms...such a precious time!
And to compare...here is Brayden asleep on Daddy's chest September 2008 when he was 1 month old

"Jesus Heart"

Just so we can remember this special time...

I was putting Brayden to sleep tonight and as we always do, we fold our hands and say our prayers.

At the end of all of our night night prayers, we say "and God Bless Mommy, God Bless Daddy, and God Bless Brayden.  Amen"

Tonight, Brayden not only said AMEN at the end with me, and clapped his hands, he also said over and over, "JESUS HEART!  JESUS HEART!"

I said, "Yes, Brayden...Jesus lives in your heart!" And he pointed to his heart and then to mine- so special!  It of course brought tears to my eyes.

Danny and I are praying each day that we are raising Brayden to know and love Jesus Christ.  And what a blessing it is to see the roots of that taking place already.  AMEN!  Jesus DOES live in your heart, son.  We love you!

Gran and Paw Paw's House

We spent last week with Gran and Paw Paw.  They are putting their house on the market (the one I lived in since 4th grade).  We are SO excited for them to move to a new patio home, but that meant lots of cleaning out and going through stuff!  We are excited to say the house went on the market on Wednesday and they have a showing tomorrow.

In between cleaning out closets, running errands, and shopping with Gran...Brayden had fun of course!

Daddy's Fathers Day Gifts

This year we did homemade Fathers Day gifts again...

We took pictures for Danny's DAD frame..
2010
and last year 2009
And I found this neat poem and gave it to Danny and Brayden's Grandfathers with his handprint

"Every day I am exploring, touching everything I've found.
I leave behind my little marks and handprints all around.
You clean up those handprints but someday when I’m grown
you’ll wish you had just one handprint to keep for your own.
I made this handprint for you so that one day when I am tall
you’ll remember what my hand looked like long ago when I was small."

(Sorry I can't remember where I found the poem from)

Fathers Day Festivities

We are blessed to be able to celebrate Fathers Day and Grandfathers Day with all of Brayden's special men in his life (and ours :))

We started the weekend with Grandpa Boyer
3 Generations

Brayden and I woke Daddy up Saturday morning with breakfast
(gran marnier stuffed french toast, sausage and bacon)
A morning in the pool and a trip to Jamba Juice (Brayden's 1st on his own)
An evening of dinner to celebrate Grandaddy Don and Daddy
Lunch at Piato on Sunday after church

(Giving Daddy a kiss :))
That evening we headed to Beaumont to celebrate Great Grandaddy, Uncle Gerald and Paw Paw
Not quite sure what was happening here, except Brayden wanted nothing to do with taking pictures

Puzzles...

We have been showing and teaching Brayden puzzles since he was a little one...

We started with these...
And moved to these within the last 8 months or so...
Just in the past couple of weeks, he has started to dump the puzzle pieces out on his own, and put them back correctly!  It truly is amazing to see him think through matching colors, shapes, and making them fit.  Such a neat thing to see that "light bulb" go off (as we teachers say :))

22 month pictures

Once again, Brayden was not happy at all about taking pictures.  Not even a HUGE lollipop could appease him for a few smiles and to stand still for one moment!  Oh well!  We'll start praying now for his 2 year old pictures in August.
Mommy learned to take 2 or 3 lollipops next time- it broke easily!
