Washington D.C.- Part 1

We had a FABULOUS time in Washington D.C. last week visiting Uncle Blake.  Aunt Lauren came with us and we loved spending so much time with both of them.  We took LOTS of pictures as it was Cherry Blossom Festival Weekend and we saw so many sites.

Brayden's 1st Airplane Ride
Meeting the pilots in the cockpit- he got his 1st set of Continental Pilot-In-Training wings

We couldn't have asked for the flight to go any better- it was not full, so they gave us a full row in the very back.  Thanks to all the airplane tips I got from friends...he did GREAT!
Brayden's 1st Metro RideOur Beautiful hotel- actually we stayed in the newer part connected to it, but this was the main section.  The tulip and cherry blossom trees were in full bloom! WWII MemorialVietnam Memorial
Washington Monument (notice in how many pictures the little guy was asleep :)  He did great napping in his stroller twice a day)

Elite Eight! Sic Em Bears

My sister, Lauren, was graciously giving tickets to the Baylor Elite Eight game on Sunday...and Danny graciously offered to watch Brayden so we could go root on our Baylor Bears!

They played a great game!

Sienna Spring Fling with Easter Bunny

Sienna put on a fun Spring Fling for the toddler crowd, complete with the Easter Bunny- after our experience with Santa Claus and the live animals at the Oil Ranch a few weeks ago, we decided to give this one a try instead of waiting in line at the mall.

Glad we did!  This is what he did!

He did have fun on the toddler sized bounce house :)

And then he and Daddy decided to go down the big kids slide...

Palm Sunday

We had a very special surprise at the end of our Palm Sunday service at church...they brought all of the kids into the main room carrying palm branches- of course Mommy cried!  It was such a special moment for us to see our little man surrounded by so many friends who love him and want him to learn about Jesus.

Playing with Daddy

"One night a father overheard his son pray: Dear God, Make me the kind of man my Daddy is. Later that night, the Father prayed, Dear God, Make me the kind of man my son wants me to be."~ Anonymous

We are blessed that Daddy gets to work from home some Fridays- that means we get more time to play with him outside.

A visit with Great-Nana

Brayden's Great-Nana fell and hurt her leg last week...we went by to give her hugs and kisses!

Painting...well, without paint!

Brayden spent some time helping Nana and Grandaddy work on the house that Aunt Tiff and Uncle James are going to live in...since Aunt Tiff can't be around the paint fumes, Brayden decided to help out!

(Don't worry- it is low odor paint and we were only there a little bit while they were painting)

19 months old

This birthday almost slipped by us- but we all said Happy Birthday in the car to you!  You are becoming your own little boy with your own personality- it is such a blessing to watch you grow and change every day!

The biggest thing that happened this month is that we put the toddler rail on your crib- Aunt Lauren found you on top of your crib rail one Saturday morning and then Mommy found you half way of the side that afternoon

- you love to dance whenever you hear music and you do this adorable tap with your right foot, turn in circles, and move your arms up and down
- you just moved out of 12-18 mth clothes are wearing 18 month clothes- some 24 mth shirts
- you are wearing size 6-7 shoes and size 4 diapers
- you drank water from a big boy cup (no sippy, no straw) and didn't spill it on yourself
- you took your diaper off all on your own last night for Aunt Tiff- maybe we will start trying to introduce potty training like your pediatrician said we could
- your favorite foods are still any fruit, green veggies, and beans- meat is still tough to get into you
- you still only drink milk at night with dinner and before bedtime, but plenty of water throughout the day
- your favorite type of books are the ones that have something you can open up on the page
- you are feeding yourself very well with your fork and spoon
- you see and spot airplanes
- you like to walk on your tip toes (sorry I taught you that)
- you can follow 2 consecutive verbal directions at a time
- you are still copying us with many new words...Mommy didn't write down the new ones this month :(
the words you are saying on your own are ball, bubbles, momma, daddy, and a few others

We love you SOOOOO very much little one...

An afternoon in Beaumont

We headed to Beaumont Sunday after lunch to visit Gammy and Grandaddy.  We were blessed that my dad's cousin, who is an artist, just happened to have her artwork on display at the art museum, so we were able to catch up with extended family we hadn't seen in many years!
